Poetry of Peace

Would you like to turn your passionate words for peace into poetry?

Participants write (at least) one poem per week, guided by a lecture from me. Each week they receive supportive feedback from other participants and me.

I regret I can only guide you in English, but, I encourage you to submit in the language you are the most comfortable. Please, however, translate into English. Present BOTH versions for critique.

2 sections available: Beginning / Intermediate & Advanced

The Format

Fridays-You read a lecture by Sarah based on some aspect of poetry, e.g. style of certain poet, tool of poetry, or topic for writing. Begin posting your thoughts & comments about the topic. Respond to what others write and continue this practice throughout the week.

Sundays-You submit a NEW poem based on the reading. Sarah offers questions & commentary (based primarily on the work submitted) to further stimulate a discussion of poetry.

Tuesdays-You submit a CRITIQUE of two poems by fellow poets in this workshop. Sarah sets up and posts the matrix for who critiques whom.

Wednesdays /Thursdays-You submit your REVISION of your Tuesday poem-Read and critique others’ poems-as desired.

Workshop Duration: 5 weeks
Fee: $150
