Poetry First!: Create New Poetry, Critique, & Revise

"Sarah Zale's online, poetry class is a great way for a working person to stay engaged in the creative process. The feedback from participants proves to be something of a salon you can attend without leaving home . . . The lectures are in-depth and thoughtfully prepared, providing lots of fodder for the upcoming round of assignments. The atmosphere is not judgmental but one of camaraderie and pure support!" -Penelope LaMontagne, Poet Laureate, Healdsburg, CA

"Sarah is an excellent, organized and approachable leader who finds the positive qualities in your work and teaches you how to keep improving. Her lectures are detailed and interesting, and designed to educate you about the field of poetry as well as the craft. She is a real pro . . ." -Alene Bikle. Sacramento, CA

"I like the turn we've taken. It's serious and a lot of hard work but something else too, I don't know, like hearing clearly for the first time after listening with your head under water to what people have been saying to you all your life. I guess what I'm saying is, I'm approaching writing, poetry in particular, differently than before. Please don't tell me I'm alone—the last one, as usual—to wake up and smell the adverb." -Janet Richardson
